Stop rusting on your carbon blade

Finally found a way to stop rusting my blades on their edges. My Chris Reeve A2 and TOPS STEEL Eagle 1095 blade. After using this Seacret nail buffer, knife did not rust at all for three months on the edge side. Usually without protection it rusts in less than 7 days. Now, currently both knives is with me in South East Asia with 99% humidity and 40degC ambient temp environment. You can buy this buffer from ebay for 10 bucks. :thumbup:

I guess I am preaching to the converted but dont store your knives carbon or stainless ion their leather sheaths. Leather argues with steel if they are left to long together.

this works with any high enough grit finish, same as the rest of the blade. The nail buffers go to around 6000 grit, IIRC.

They are all in Kydex sheath. So, no leather involved.

Yes, but with nail buffer, I was able to keep the blade naked. No types chemical stuff on your knife. Nor risk while decided to prepare food with it.

You can buy nail buffers--Revlon or whatever brand you like--at Walmart or just about any drug store. 'Course you have to be willing to hunt around in the nail care aisle.

By the way, I did not bought mine, just stole one from my wife. Saw her turning her nails into a mirror finish in matter of minutes. Than thought why not try that on my blade's edges as they rust so fast. Mirror polishing the edge will slow the rusting. Surprisingly it stopped rusting . Unfortunately she caught me, so now I have to buy my own. . I buy it online so I don't have to go to that nail care aisle.
