Found some cool unfinished Buck Strider knives. 890 SB5 non serrated. So cool. I'll have to figure out how to get these finished. Lunchbox knives I'm sure from 2004.

I haven't been able to find this model that has a plain edge blade. All I've seen is serrated versions. Maybe someone here will have more info.

Neat find. Do you think they have been thru heat treatment yet?
I would think that the serrations are applied as a more final step, say at the time of sharpening.

I'm sure Buck will chip in I'm hoping they can check heat treat wether it's been done or not. Definitely need sharpened.

That is quite a find! I would think that since they have the BOS stamp they would be treated already?

Who knows if they only put it after heat treatment though. They could be stamped with thr Bos logo before they are heat treated.

Still would be awesome if they were.

Interesting finds. I'm no where near the Buck factory but you'd think with all the hunters, particularly deer hunters we have in this state that I'd run into Buck knives all the time but I don't. I hardly ever see an estate sale or auction that has anything for knives. If it does they are either Case or stuff off the late night TV or Franklin Mint.

Figured I'd run into all sorts of Buck folders and fixed blades but that's not the case. Maybe they got too much use and got tossed? I mean, what are hunters using to field dress game, their teeth? That would be quite the challenge for some of the folks I've run into. Don't get me wrong. They got a full set of teeth, they just have to share them with the rest of the family.

Very cool! I need to go shopping with you!

I'm sure makers here could do them up for you. Saw where Charlie Mike finished up some Cold Steel blades recently so he may be worth a ping.

Stopped by today for half price and picked up a stand up belt sander and more blade blanks. Plus a large chunk of 440c.

Seems somebody liked bringing his work home with him.:D That's definitely stuff up only get to find living that close to the factory....I'm jealous :D

Yeah, theft sucks. I'm not sure who the guy was they had the estate sale for. I don't know how old these blanks are either. The two tanto strider are from 2004

They could be turned into something nice. Or left alone and put away

Looks like the top blade could be a 102 then a Mini-Vanguard, Vanguard, and a Scimitar at the bottom.
What are the two blades with the forked tang?

I did use a spring loaded punch and tried the file on the butt of the knife. Definately heat treated. I also learned that bead blasting comes after heat treat as well. These are both bead blasted.
