Storage and sheaths

Hi all, I did a search, and mostly got questions about whether it's ok to store knives in their sheaths. That's not really my question.

My question is how do you store your sheaths? Currently I have about half of my fixed blade knives mounted on brass hooks in a wooden gun cabinet. But the sheaths are all stored in a bin in the closet and it's kind of a pain when I want to use a knive and have to dig around and find the right sheath.
I'm thinking of getting a multi drawer tool chest to store my knives in and am trying to decide whether to store the knives in the sheaths or next to the sheaths (if there is room in the drawers for that). So just looking for ideas. How do YOU store your fixed blade knives and sheaths? together, separately? Again, not asking if its OK to store knives in sheaths. I've read all those threads. I just want to see what you all do. Pics are always nice to see.

Apart from my edc fixed blades currently in rotation, most of my fixed blades are stored sheathed in a big pelican style case, so everything stays together.

Sheathed and mine are also everywhere!!!!
I often wondered if those magnetic tool bars they sell to hang tools on would hold a knife in its sheath.....leather or whatever else🤔

I keep mine sheathed. Too easy to either ding an edge or accidentally "find" and edge with my finger.

On the knife or behind it on the wall, write a number.
On a post-it, placed on the sheath, write the number that corresponds with the knife.
Store the sheath wherever your little heart desires. In the factory box - if there is one - is the perfect place. Go ahead and stick any paperwork pertaining to the knife in that factory box.
100/150 years from now your descendants may get a kick out of that.

The last thing I want to have to do when I need a knife is to have to dig the sheath out separately...

So yes, all are stored in the sheath, and kept in a Pelican case, and the sock drawer, and the nightstand, the shop etc..

I seal all my leather sheaths against moisture with SnowSeal (well melted in) and wipe the blades down with BreakFree CLP. That seems to work, at least in Alberta's fairly dry climate.

Knives w/ kydex/bolatron sheaths are stored in their sheaths, except for a few that I store in knife holders in my safe.

Knives w/leather sheaths are stored separately to prevent blade corrosion.

If it's not obvious, I insert a note identifying the knife in any sheaths stored separately from the corresponding knife.
