I just received a new Patrol Machete, which is really nice. My question is, since the sheath is similar to a balistic nylon, can I store the machete in the sheath? In know with leather sheaths, it is not a good idea. It seems that nylon would not present a chemical or rust problem to the high carbon steel. Thanks

Jay - congrats on your new purchase. It really is a sweet machete! I store mine in its sheath (though as I type, I have a custom made Kydex carry rig for it en route to me from Elite Tactical). As long as the blade is dry when you put it in the sheath, you shouln't have any problems. The black coating retards rust.
