You guys have all heard of gun socks, right? Of course. Silicone treated socks used to protect/store firearms. Well, did you know that Sack-Ups, the brand that I've stored my guns in for several yrs., sells them for knives? I'm planning on ordering them to protect my Grails, at least. I'll then place them in an ammo can & on into a gun safe. Ammo cans have the rubber seal so they're waterproof & being military spec ammo cans, they offer some fire protection. Add the safe & you have triple protection. Just thought I'd share this w/ you guys. Undoubtedly you all have your own great storage solutions but this may serve as an alternative or as a method for newer collectors. Thank you.

Sack-Ups -- great product. Maybe.

I had also read that the quality of sack ups has gone down lately. Although, it is possible to find the older ones that are to the original specs.

I have an old Sak-Up knife pouch. The quality is fine and it works as advertised.

But as a permanent long term knife collection storage solution, it's quite inadequate. It can't hold the knife boxes or other accessories, each roll only holds a few knives, and they provide no security.

I don't use none of that. Just wipe the blade down with some oil & resheath it. I keep mine in a Rubber Maid container, yes, in the basement. No rust, no mold, nothing. No rust either. I use either 3-in-1-oil or Fluid Film. I just make sure the uncoated sharp edge get some too. Most all of my blades have some kind of black coating on them.
