I dont know if your moving the whole house
or just some suitcases on an airplane,but
I would not put all my knifes in 1 box.
I would split them up into different cases.
You dont want the bad guys to get everything at once
Some in a box labeled "Kitchen pots"
some with "Bathroom Supplies"
some with "Dirty Laundy"
etc etc

Whatever you do, take photos of the knives you are going to take and make sure they are covered under your home owners policy (get it in writing an send copies of the pictures to your agent). I have one of the Pelican cases that is the shape of a briefcase that I've used in the past. Now I normally ship knives insured ahead of time. It is sad when you have to choose between two evils, the USPS and airline employees.

In the US, if a remember right, you can only lock you luggage if you use TSA approved locks. TSA approved means they have the keys.

Just look at the camera cases and get the one that will fit you knives or spread them out like was suggested.
