Storage

Quick question, what is the best way to store a survive knife? I know we would all love to use these everyday, but my schedule doesn't allow for this. I fact, I sometimes go months without getting out. Is it ok to keep them in the kydex?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Keep it on ur hip...HaHa!
Kydex storage is fine but I always put light coat of mineral oil on mine or Ballistol.

It can be stored in the kydex, just make sure it is completely dry. Definitely give it a layer of oil for extra protection.

I use a Craftsmen tool chest for storage, keeps the knives fairly organized and I can lock it to keep kids out.

Hope you enjoy the 5.1, should be there Monday.

For long term storage I'd suggest a thin layer of vaseline. Mineral oil disappears, at least visually, in a few weeks for me. I've had no problems keeping my knives right in their kydex.

I keep all mine in a sheath and coat with Ballistol. Even oil below the handles

This is a pretty good idea!

Do you throw some silica packs in there to absorb excess moisture?

It's between two floor registers and isn't air tight so I haven't thought about it, I do keep them oiled though.
