Just wondering how to store my Benchmade Barrage knives with the least amount of pressure on the spring. Opened or closed?

Opened or closed the spring pressure is the same, I think because the lockbar closed or open is in the same position. The highest pressure on the springs would be when the knife is half open where the lockbar is in between the slot.

I believe he means the assist spring, not the omega spring.
To answer the question, I think open would have less pressure on the spring. But I don't know for sure.

Any metal is less stressed when unsprung. I believe in the law of physics so I store my assisted knives in the open position for this reason. Although any members have reported no problems storing them in the closed position for years the spring is being stressed.

It is the action of loading and unloading a spring that causes fatigue. There is no difference on spring life whether it is stored loaded or unloaded, imo.
