This has probably been asked before but how do you store your assisted opening knives? open or closed. I read where any knife with a spring assist should be stored in the open position, what do you think? I have a Kershaw Tyrade and I keep it closed in a cordura pouch.

I keep most of mine in the open position but really, it doesn't hurt
to store them closed. Either way is fine and it isn't going to hurt a
thing.

I store mine closed, opening and closing the knife (cycling the spring/bar) is what is going to wear it out

Yup. A spring 'wears' from repeated compression/decompression motion. It will not fatigue and wear if you just keep it either compressed or decompressed.

I don't think it should be of any concern with a company like Kershaw. Hell, cycle it as much as you want with the flipper. IF the spring wears out, Kershaw will replace it.

Think about it like your car, you don't park your car on jacks at night to decompress the springs in your suspension.
