I've got a couple of raw wood storage cabinets that I'd like to use, but I've heard that one should not store knives in unsealed wood becuase unsealed wood attracts moisture. I'm not sure I get that though, as I thought wood tends to dry out after it's been cut, meaning that it actually loses moisture. Maybe that's what isn't good for the knives, the escaping moisture?
Anyways, I wondering if some of you have experience with the subject of storing knives in or on raw wood drawers and cabinets. I could seal them, but I kind of like them raw. Definitely don't want moisture getting to the knives though. Thanks.
