I thought I would share with everyone on how to store knives without rust buildup. I am sorry if this is old hat. I coat all my knives with vasoline and wipe off the excess until a very fine coating remains. After 5 years of being stored in a humid basement I found out that there was no rust on my carbon steel blades. I hope this helps. If anyone has a better method please post as I would like to know if there is anything better. Thanks!
