Just bought some "extra" 123 lithiums for my Surefires.

Am trying to balance "grab'n'go" storage in the Surefire carrier, with leaving the batteries on their mfgr. cards.

Any material difference on open batteries vs sealed?

Lithium batteries have a shelf life of ten years regardless of whether they are in a package or loose. Either way, it will not degrade the batteries performance when it is needed.

Cool.

Something I forgot to post in my original, is there any kind of a battery carrier that holds 2 of the 123's so you can carry in your pocket??

Thanks
Mike

a cheap source of battery is to buy those used for camera which has 2 ob the 123 in one- cheaper if u buy 1 of 123. All u need to do is crack open the double battery.

try it yourself.

Get yourself a plastic match holder from any camping supply store. Fits 2 123's perfectly.

They don't fit my plastic match holder. They do fit in a larger size pharmacy pill container, like a small aspirin bottle, or you could put a few in a plastic cigar tube.

get some 3M electrician tape and just tape the two 123 together. Remember to tape lengthwise so that the nipple or +ve contact are not exposed. Just 2 round of 1/2" tape lengthwise and some roundwise will keep them small and compact.
