Storm !

After watching all the TV coverage of the various storms in the country we had ours ! High wind s lightning, thunder ,heavy rain .Now out of power nearly 60 hours .I did however get a generator yesterday so some of the problems are solved. About two miles away there is an area that we are sure was a tornado as the trees were broken often by the tops just twisting off ! I don't know about Sam's power but he's in the next town.
We certainly get used to all the benefits of electricity !!

yeah, we've had some dandy storms lately too, lots of tornado warnings. You were very smart to get a generator, at least you can have light and keep your frig goiing. Hope all's well by now.

It's Back !! After 66 hours !

Ouch! 66 hours without! Buy a generator, the power won't go out if you have one. At least mine hasn't. We had 90 minutes of consecutive severe thunderstorm with lightning striking withing 2 seconds of the house for the full 90 minutes. I'm used to storms lasting a few minutes at their peak intensity.

Generators are handy, and my old Honda gets a pretty good work out on a regular bases around here. One thing about generators that many people forget about is gas. Too often people forget about their gas supplies. Keep several jerry cans full, and rotate them regularly so that the gas doesn't get stale. Pour the gas into your vehicles periodically and fill them up with fresh gas. A generator is no good without fresh fuel and plenty of it.

My generator is a Honda with a real sine wave , necessary for electronics especially computer and amateur radio.
