Story of a SHBM Jungle Assault and a young man

Had the safe open the other evening and my youngest son, now 16, was showing his usual interest in some of my treasures.

The subject of Busse knives came up and I mentioned I was trying to sell my SHBM Jungle Assault.

This Jungle Assault has always been his favorite knife in my collection and he has spent many moments admiring it's balance and thrusting it (carefully) about.


My son turned to me, looked me square in the eyes, and said,

"Dad, don't sell this knife. If you ever sold this knife I would have to spend as many years as it would take to track it down and buy it back again."


I was dumb struck. I immediately logged into Bladeforums and withdrew the knife from sale.

I believe my son has pretty good taste in knives.

His Busse collection just began with the gift of a SHBM Jungle Assault.

great story, so you started him pretty young, and with a pretty hardcore piece of INFI, how can he get anything else to compare or top this? Starting him on the addiction... now he'll be broke for the rest of his life lol
