Anyone have a recommendation for a compact stove that might fit with a maxped bottle holder? I was considering trangia alcahol stove with little windscreen/pot holder (might fit under bottle?). Or maybe a honey stove(it looks like some configurations are more compact?)? Thanks for any suggestions! William

A current military surplus item is the Swiss M1 Gel Fuel Stove. It’s the same general thing as a can of Sterno. But it comes with a steel cylindrical rack that fits around the can in storage. Set the gel fuel alight and perch the rack on top of the can. That will hold your GSI cup and heat water for coffee or a freeze dried meal. I wouldn’t recommend it for making Hollandaise sauce.
It its compact format it fits under my Guyot bottle in my 12” Maxpedition water bottle case. The original gell fuel burns sooty. But you can replace that with Sterno for cleaner cooking.
