Thanks Scott - appreciate it. The bolsters are black Richlite - sold by Masecraft Supply......I like it because it's a phenolic but not as hard on your equipment....also there is not as much of a contrast in end grain between Richlite and micarta rods.......from the catalog:

"Richlite is an incredibly durable, extremely versatile, and highly sustainable material made from resin-infused paper.
Composed of approximately 65% FSC®-certified or recycled paper content and 35% phenolic resin, Richlite’s color comes from a combination of the paper and the amber tone of the resin. Richlite works similar to a dense hardwood and can be easily milled, sanded, routed, joined and it can also be laser engraved. Richlite is water-resistant, naturally antimicrobial, has low moisture absorption, heat and fire resistant, extraordinarily dense and durable, and has a natural appeal due to its paper construction."

That Richlite sounds like some interesting stuff, I looked at Masecraft website and they have a lighter colored version called Maple Valley I think I'm going to try.

That's one hell of a camp knife. Perfect size, good width. That handle is beautiful and must feel great in the hand.

I appreciate the kind words fellas - thanks!

I would have seen the violin inspiration, even if not for the name! Beautiful work. :)

Nice one, bud. I was thinking about looking into Richlite, strangely enough, and here you are using it... ha!
