Jumping on the straight clipped 17 bandwagon. Thought I better post a couple of pics before I start beating on it.

Stripped, straightened the clip, and added the patented "heartache patina". Added some stainless hardware courtesy of Mr. Dexwithers.

Also mirror polished the spine and tang while I was at it.

Probably will go with some micarta or custom scales, or maybe just some liners. But this is my field knife for now.

Damn that looks good brother! Very nice! And I say get some micarta at least. Some nice customs would look great too.

Mine is gonna get something very similar, very soon.

Never liked the 17 till Gutsy did that mod.

That looks so good. My 16 will now be getting a new friend. Care to share the steps to straighten the clip?

Straight Clip EATS YOUR LUNCH.
Yeppers.

Looks good!

What sheath is that?

Jeremy

It's an old Blind Horse sheath that came with the Bushcrafter. It's my "catch-all" because it fits all the tweeners, Mora black and about five other knives.

Nice work Tradewater. The straight clip looks so much better. I straightened out my 17 and changed the handle shape slightly back in May. When I get the three 16s completed, the 17 will get a polishing.

mmmm....pretty! The disc part of that Craftsman is very handy for making straight grinds in steel. The 17 is the one tweener I don't own...at the moment. Might could be that'll change....
