Straight Handle Natural Outlaw

Me!!! Sounds like a sweet idea!

Why mess with perfection?

the sh1 could be viewed as almost exactly that.

The first Steel Heart? I take it you talking about the one the ASH was fashioned after and yeah maybe....

...but it has more of the traditional Steel Heart shape, where the Outlaw is alot different.

As far as messing with perfection...yes I agree the SFNO is one of Busse's finest. In fact it's one of my favorites in the large knife category. But I do have to admit I really like the Straight Handle era and the Outlaw got left out of that. It would be nice to see what Jerry would do with the design.

I like the SFNO spine dip and it's useful choil. When choked up on the choil, the dip in the spine matches up nice for a secure grip. I wouldn't like to see it changed myself.

I never would have guessed that about the ASH-1. It makes them alot more attractive to me. I always thought they were too wide in the blade for thier length (by appearance only).

I have to agree on this one. :)

Just a little shorter in the handle, and more of a drop point. ;)

Nice shots Foo. Thanks for posting them. I still like the fact that the Straights had a nice belly (palm swell) in the handles. But yes the ASH1 is one of my carry blades while hunting/camping. It's a nice compromise.

I had a chance at a ASH1 le at a sweet deal and didn't buy it because it is too close to the specs of the SFNO that I have 3 of now! lol
