Straight line Damascus?

I saw a knife the other day that was made of Damascus welded in straight line's Looked REALLY cool. The lines ran the length of the blade but were almost perfectly straight. Someone told me that it was the same Damascus used to make custom 45acp barrels. Some strange companies name.
Has anybody used this or know where to get it?

Bob,
Can't tell you the maufacturer of the steel your refering to, but most folks who produce damascus should be able to provide some for you. In reality the straight lines are some of the toughest to make. It's nothing compared to some of the mosaics, but if one is not using a press, it can be very difficult to maintain really nice straight lines in the steel.

You might be refering to Caspian arms, USA.
If so its Damasteel as far as I know. Anyway they have several patterns and I bet if you cut out a blade from one of theire round bars it will turn out straight lines.

I have just finished a few knives with the pattern called Vinland. The pattern is random in the flats but almost straight in the hollows. Looks great

If it is a single straight line you are looking for that would be what we call our Thunderforged(tm) Twist #2.

If you are looking for more than one line, we have a new billet with 3 lines. It is call our Thunderforged(tm) Persian Ribbon.

Visit www.thunderforgeddamascus.com to see.
