Strange blade in an old slipjoint

From the picture, it looks live someone tried to cut a 'hot" electrical wire with it.
 
Looks like an old hordiculture knife or a knife used for bloodletting to me assuming the back portion is also sharpened on the hump
 
I would agree with the budding/horticultural knife assessment.

Aah, now I know... Thank you. For grafting my father used different shape of blade - curved, that`s why I `ve thought about it this way.
 
It is a grafting knife, and strangely enough, the Douk-Douk has a similar blade. I wonder if, despite the general purposes it's put to now, it may have begun as a farmer's knife.
