strange imperial tang stamp

Back a few years ago smokey mountain knife works was had all there left over usa and ireland schrades and imperials on clearance. You could order them and they came bulk packed ya know just the little plastic bag. Anyway I had about a half dozen of these imperticular imperials I kept in a cigar box and I usually gave them to guys I worked with that didint have a knife or just if someone came over I like to hand out desent knives to people. Well we just moved so I was going through my stuff and opened one of the imperials up and noticed this tang stamp reading VERNON Ireland stainless?? I opened the rest and this was the only one. Maybe this isint something new to you guys but I have a lot of imperials and have never come across this one. Just wanted to share, any thoughts?- Joel

joel wished i could tell you something, but ive never seen or heard of that vernon stamp????--- i'll bet someone knows----------brady
 
My guess is that it is a brand Schrade used for the European market.
No proof, just a hunch.

Maybe Vernon indicated a company name the knife was made for, rather than a location the knife was made. :confused:
