Strange Looking Sebenza

To me it just looks like a well-used "regular" regular with some holes drilled in the slabs. Could be a DIY job. Probably S30V blade.
 
The DIY part does make sense, I don't think Chris would do that at the factory. I can't imagine that knife is worth anything close to what he claims to have paid for it.
 
Looks like it might be a "mayonized" sebenza. Tom Mayo has done some sebenza hole mods, but I can't say I've seen one in that configuration. Could be a DIY to take after Mayo, but it could just as possibly be done by Mayo himself. Eh...

If you don't know Mayo, he's most famous for the TNT, I think buck did a production version of it for a short bit.
 
I agree it does look similar to a Tom Mayo customized version and very well may be. I have two Tom Mayo's and both of mine have the thumb stud filed down to be flat on top...he did that on many. Plus the holes in the auction knife seem a little different, the ones on mine have some kind of ridges inside...these look smooth. REALLY hard to determine if it's a true Mayo or not, but at any rate, I still think it looks cool. I'm not a bidder on this, I'm more in a sell mode than buy mode.

Its just a regular sebenza that was customized along the way. It looks neat, but voids the CRK warranty. So should it need work down the road, your out of luck as CRK will not do warranty work on modified knives.
 
Yeah.. I almost feel bad for whoever bid on this thing.

I especially like this quote "THIS KNIFE HAS BEEN CARRIED FOR PROTECTION ONLY AND NEEDS TO BE RESHARPENED."
