Hi,

I'm gonna buy the Maxpedition Sitka.
That''s for sure.

Just not sure what color because I see lot's of pictures of apparently the same color on the Sitka, looking totally different.

For example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...Category=11170&_trkparms=algo=LVI&its=I&otn=2

and this one
http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45404

Now that's a big difference!
I like the last one lots better.

So, who has a Maxpedition bag and noticed the real color is way different from the advertised color?
Especially intersted in Foliage green and OD green.
Some pics would help!

Thanks in advance !:D

I have alot of OD Green stuffand theitems are OD Green now the foilage GReen at times looks Grayish to me...who knows ?

I just received a used Remora (OD Green) today, and it certainly has a gray flavor to it. My son's fairly new Condor II backpack is also OD Green, and its "real" OD Green without the grayish cast.

So either OD Green may fade over time, or the "old" OD Green is not as intense as the "new".

Either way, they both look good to my eyeballs. Most of my Maxpedition stuff is khaki, though I have some black and some OD green. Have also a new Larkspur that is a khaki/OD green that looks real good together.

If you look at the foliage green color here, it does look gray to me.

I ordered a khaki backpack and khaki pouches from a couple of different vendors. They all had tags stating "khaki" but they vary in color. Only thing I can think of is they were dyed in different batches of color.

I believe Maxpedition's Foliage Green, is what is otherwise known as ACU Grey. So if you have an example of that...there ya go.

It's one of those nifty colors that seems to shift gently to fit in with the lighting, and therefore defy exact description.

In the OP's question, the Ebay one may be mislabeled, it also shows two different color schemes so who knows that it's refering too. The review link you posted looks very much like my Foliage green gear. On the Maxpedition site, go by the swatch color sample below the pics more than the pic itself.

The pics in the second link are what foliage green looks like. It's a greyish green.

In the eBay link, the guy describes it properly, it's Khaki/foliage -- Maxped's new line of two-tone bags. The bag is khaki, the straps and whatnot are foliage.

I just ordered a blue/fg and some fg pouches. I'll take some pics and color correct when they come in. Seems to look anything from od to grey

Foliage is one of the ACU colors. It's grey with a hint of green.

"Ranger green" is primarily brown with a hint of green.

Desert tan is a very, very light brown.

I don't have a pic of my Maxped Foliage pouches, but here's a Kifaru Zulu in foliage, the Maxped stuff is the same color:

Oke guys, thanks.
I really like the foliage ones!
I'm sure now it's gonna be a foliage Sitka, now I'm just searching where to buy it.
Thanks for the help!

Still I'll put the link in here from their own site, that started this whole confusion.
If you click on the foliage color for the Sitka, the pictures that comes up with the ''foliage'' color is really different from the real deal.

I picked up a Jumbo off FleaBay, the color was slightly different then my Typhoon, and I wondered why. It took me a couple of weeks before I realized it was such a good deal because it was a knock off. Anyways, Even the tags looked like the Maxpedition stuff.

I know the sell I picked mine up from has been pulled from eBay.

The Sitka is a heck of a bag, I almost wish I had it instead of my Typhoon.

Ive wondered the same thing...

Im ordering a Lunada as soon as I figure out colors. Ive had foliage from em, and its ACU grey. All the foliage items Ive ordered from em have matched perfectly. I had an OD fatboy from em and it was more green then OD, but I liked the color.

I would love to try out some Khaki, but some of the pics make it look very "yellow", or light khaki. I love coyote, and I see some pics of guys bags that look more Coyote then Khaki. Also, the monochromatic zippers. I see some bags in Khaki that the zippers are khaki, and then I see some with black zippers. I like em monochromatic, but dont want to order the Lunada in Khaki, and have it come and be too light in color with black zippers. Id be stoked if it were a nice coyote with monochromatic zippers.

Eh.... Ill probably just order OD.

The ACU color names:
The "dark gray" is Ranger Green
The "light gray" is Foliage Green
The light "whitish" color is Coyote Tan (not to be confused with Coyote Brown which is much darker)

Twowolvesoutdoors are good people, they carry Maxpedition. As for the Sitka it is a good everyday carry. The ladder system on the side in place of regular molle I will say isn't the best. If you plan on putting pouches on the side of this pack they should be small. Pouches that I have put on the side (an example I have used is the M-1) will not sit as snug up against the pack as I would like due to the ladder system. Also if you are to use the pack as intended when you slide the pack around to the front of your body and have pouches on the side it will hinder getting into the main pocket of the pack.
Just my two cents hope it helps.
