Strange Police Model

E-Bay currently has numerous Police Models being auctioned as an estate sale, these are described as mint condition, stainless steel model 1007R-SER and have blades with no steel type marked.
Blade is acid etched "POLICE MODEL"
Inside the red box, the knife is wrapped in foil and not the usual plastic.
This 1007R-SER does not seem to be the usual CO7 Police numbers, any info on these.

I do think that this is just the older model, i seem to remember that my first Police was packed like that. (bought in ca. 1988)
My first was etched too with "police". Pretty kewl!

Anyone other that remembers that??

Remember it? I'm carrying one right now! Non-chamfered edges, "Police Model" on the blade, fully serrated. Cir. 1988 bought in Mass.
