Im sure these have been either showed or talked about before I probablly just wasnt paying attention, but this one caught my eye. for starters it was mint in the box and asking price at the once a year around here knife show was $30 bucks. Then I noticed the tang stamp and realized I had none of these so I bought it. Whats the story with this stamp? is it schrade cut co? and what year? any info fellas? - Joel

Never seen that S.C.C. stamp on a scrimshaw before. Still not sure for what reason the SCC stamping was used. Another ongoing Schrade mystery. The raccoon SC505 was done in 1980,

The + or no + should indicate stainless or carbon, just like a SCHRADE stamped knife. They did both during the Scrimshaw era, which started in 1976.

There is a comprehensive chart of the years of production of all Scrimshaw knives from 1976 to 1996, on pg 166 of the Levine 4th. I'd post it, but I'll ask Bernard Levine if it is OK. I have two trout SC-503 (my only scrims) from 1979 and 1982. The older one is carbon, the newer one is stainless.
