We have tornado watches until 11pm this evening. Earlier, a strange storm rolled through. Temps cooled off instantly, vicious winds, but no rain. It was to the south of us. Anywhos, I got the camera out, and snapped a few photos:

There was this weird glow within some of the clouds. Almost looks like a dragon head with wings, with an inner glow. Okay, okay, use your imagination:

Went out to the country, to get some better photos. Lightning shots:

Then the sun popped out:

The sun was hitting pretty much in one area of the sky, creating a glow on the clouds:

To the right. The rainbow is still there against the dark sky:

Becker content added. Had my trusty 14 in the truck with me. Couldn't decide which I liked better:

I'm sure this thread won't go over very well, haha, but you had to be here to experience it. It was so strange out.

I love a good storm. Lightning is my favorite part of it. What camera are you using? It takes phenomenal pics.

Mother Nature is one tough ol' broad!
cool picks! glad there was no damage
That 'ol bitch sure is, haha. Thanks man.

Same here. I used to go take videos of incoming storms, but haven't done that for several years now. It's a little Sony Cybershot.

I'm north of you and it came through here too. My daughter snapped this one on our way home.

Clouds had some seriuos height. Still one hell of a light show going on here. Glad it didn't get worse for anyone.

Really nice shot man. They did have some serious height, for sure.

Some of those pics looked like a wedge low in the sky, separating some clouds from the main mass above them. That would be a cold front moving under a warm mass. THAT sets off that serious turbulence and rain.

Beautiful photos.

+100. Absolutely glorious photos Dubz. Glad you and everyone else there are safe bud. We get some gnarly storms here in Aus but nothing like those terrifying twisters that you guys get. Cyclones do batter the living berjeeberz outta the far north here though. Oh yeah, didn't need much imagination to see that dragon. Beautiful shot..

That was cool. Glad it went around you. We had a crazy thunderstorm last night. I had to spend the night on the sofa with my 70lb pit mix because he's scared of thunder. He's part pit, part giant sissy.

Those are some incredible pics! The sky looks amazingly surreal - almost spooky at times.

It was a bit scary, I must admit. My neighbor and I were outside watching it, and straight above us, the upper clouds were going west, and the lower were going east. There was some swirling going on big time. I was just waiting for a tornado to drop.

Beautiful photos.
Thanks man, appreciate it.

Thanks man. I never noticed the dragon until I uploaded the photos. I took some photos a few days ago of a storm rolling through, and you can see a man's head/face in the clouds. SImulacrum.

Thanks man. It was definitely south of us, the bad stuff. I looked at the radar, then we jumped in the truck and headed south of town, to get the lightning shots, and most of the others.

Amazing photos Warrior! that looks like one hell of a storm!

Thanks man. I've always been fascinated by storms. I've only seen one tornado, about 3 blocks in front of my face, and that was enough. Luckily, the damage was minimal.

First off, love how the 14 made a cameo in your shots. Classic. Secondly, those pics are amazing. Don't know that I have ever seen clouds like that with those odd colors in the middle. Glad you were tornado free. Thanks for those pics

Thanks man. My little camera does fairly well, but for far off shots, it won't focus correctly, hence the blurry lightning shots. The sky was freaking me out. The neighbor and I are about the same age, and we'd both never seen anything like it before. The "light" within some of the clouds was eerie.

Thanks man. I almost forgot the 14 was in my sun visor, haha. Glad I remembered. Crazy weather this year, for sure.
