Strange-Why do I have more than one of all my knives????

Okay. Drag out your Psych 101 books. When I find a gun or knife I like, I am compelled to buy multiple copies of it. I like my Glocks, so I have to have several. I love my Garands, so I have several of these. I have multiple copies of my AFCK and Cuda Max. It would seem strange to have just one of any of them.

Does anyone do this? Why? I bet someone could write their college thesis on the mentality of hoarding and/or collecting. It certainly would not be limited to just guns or knives. I wonder what makes people do this?

Heh, it's funny, isn't it. I think a lot of us are like this. I consciously fight the urge to buy two of everything, one to use and one to save as pristine. I decided instead of having two of everything, I'd like to use the cash to just buy more varied types of knives, and my collection is much more interesting for it. Still, as a recovering dupliholic, I'm taking it one day at a time.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that has to have multiple copies of knives I really like! Makes me feel almost normal!

When I buy a new knife I won't use or carry it until I have a second copy! It drives my wife nuts! (I only have one wife however!)

There are obviously a goodly number of people on the board with multiple personality disorders. Each of the personalities is jealous of the one that bought the knife and has to have its own version. QED

Doesn't Psych 101 come in handy??

I,m a member of the club. "Dupliholic". I like it. When you get to the "Quadraholic" stage, you know you're in trouble.

I do the same thing. Seems like if I find something, anything, that I really like, then they either quit making it, start making it out of plastic, or make it illegal. So when I wear mine out, lose it or break it years later, I can't replace it. I even bought two self-winding watches last time. :)

For me it's "Users" and "Safe Queens" although in reality
they're all "Safe Queens".

Funny, I was just thinking of buying MORE Voyagers! I already have the 3" clip point plain edge, and was thinking of buying a serrated one the see how it cuts. The REAL kicker was my plan to buy another knife JUST like the one I have now. I was planing to replace the handle myself with larger, more colorful one.

Of course, if I every lost one, I wouldn't cry beacuse I have spares!

Nothing wrong with liking a good thing.

There are certain knife models I have several of, though there's something a bit different about each one. For example, I have about 5 Spyderco Delica's, but none are exactly the same. One is AUS-8 plainedge, old style; one is SS-handled, full-serrated; one is ATS-55 plain; one is ATS-55 serrated; and one is SS-handled and plain.

I have a satin Benchmade 710S and a coated, plain-edge 710BT.

I have several Enduras, all a bit different.

I have 2 Strykers, one satin serrated, one BT plain.

Griptilians; 550, 551, 555, 556S.

OFten, I feel the need for another if I desire a different edge configuration, or handle material, or if the manufacturer introduces an upgraded version. Come to think of it, it can be a freakin' obsession. :)
