strangeness when using search

When I search all threads for the word "spy", this thread does not come up as a result.

And the threads that are shown as a result of the search are not in chronological order (based on the latest posting in each thread).

I have noticed each of these issues - for lack of a better word - previously as well.

Am I just a dillweed (likely), or is the search function ill?

thanks

Are the threads shown in order of the appearances of the word "spy"?

I have no idea how the search function works, so I can't say why it doesn't show a particular occurrence.

Esav, I am not sure how the order of the threads is configured. Perhaps the most recent usage of the word "spy" is shown first, irrespective of when the last post was made - if that makes sense.

Its no biggy when a known thread does not show up in the results, but it just makes me think a little harder to come up with additional search terms to find the thread I am looking for. I would have thunk that every thread containing a search term would be shown in the result, but thats not the case.

Edit: I used the word "spy" on 1-19 (the thread linked in post#1), but when I search "spy" the first thread shown in the results contains the word "spy" which was posted on 1-16. And my thread/post does not appear anywhere that I can see.

Have you tried using the advanced search and searching for your term in POSTS as opposed to threads?
