Stray password or user name

This is very specific to me. Last week as I was getting used to the new Blade Forum and successfully learning (with a lot of Blade Forum help) how to post pics via Imgur, I was taking notes. Looking at the notepad today I came across a password or user name I jotted down that begins with an @ with other characters that indicate it's related to Blade Forum. But I don't remember why I wrote it down. Vague memory of some site requiring an @ at the beginning of such a "term." Is this related somehow to BF or Imgur?

Though I don't use it, the '@' prefix is, I believe, part of usernames/handles on Twitter. If BF has a Twitter ID, it'd be something like @bladeforums, for example.

BTW, I am seeing an '@BladeforumsCom' user handle on Twitter, when searching for BF there.

It's a way of including someone in a conversation, (now in place of PMs) or including them in notifying them when a reply is made in a post that you think might interest them or you want them to know they're part of a post they aren't subscribed to.

If I'm not mistaken for example, by putting T. Erdelyi T. Erdelyi anywhere in a reply on this thread I'll be notified whenever another reply is made here. Doing the same thing in a conversation with another member or group of members will add that member to the conversation so they're notified every time someone replies there...

Make sense? If I'm incorrect please correct me so I can answer this question accurately. :)

Thanx for the responses. I do a little bit of Twitter and already have an @ handle there, but I created this one just the other day, so that can't be it. As for the second explanation, I do remember reading about those instances where you would add an @ in front of a BF name to do the things you mentioned. The more I think about it, I think I selected this from a group of "available" usernames on Imgur, which popped down in a window when I started to type one. On this same note page I have another thing marked PW (password), so I think both are related to Imgur. I create a different PW for every web site account I open, using only several user names, and I keep them all in my secret hidey place. But these two and what they're associated with were not added to that list. Besides signing up for Imgur, I also got their app. So I guess, since the app always remembers me, I just never finished the process of adding this info to my list. Issue solved, I think. Thanx for getting me to think harder about it!
