The chief bought the entire department these little numbers for Xmas last year:

Cute little light, just stick it in your pen-pocket or whatever. Puts out a decent amount of light. I've been carrying mine since we got the Taser. No room on the belt, you see. I could put on another ten pounds or loose something, so I lost the issued rechargable flashlight. ( I was on days mostly anyway).

The only downside was getting new batteries. It took me and two employees at Walgreens searching the large battery rack to find AAAA size. And I needed three, and they come in packs of two....

I believe you can get 6 AAAA by taking apart a square 9 volt battery, but If I remember correctly some brands are a bit short, I can't find the original site where I found about it, there are some comments in this review of the Streamlight:

Wow, I found a thread about it right here in bladeforums, surely an interesting group of people hang around here:

And one more site, this one has a picture of a 9V opened up and the AAAAs inside, and length comparison to "real" ones.

Hehe- I had no idea 9-volts were made like that. No wonder they charge so much for 'em.

Hello, all.

I tried taking apart a 9v batt once, and it DID NOT contain any AAAA cells- it had its own design. You can buy 6 packs of AAAA batts from www.brightguy.com at this page . I've bought a number of items from them over time, and always been very satisified with their service.

Radioshack should carry AAAA batteries. You might cringe at the price though.

What was inside the one you took apart, FrankieCrabs? Do you remember what brand it was?

I'm hooked on my Stylus. I got a few way back when and gave one to my brother-in-law so he could save the batteries on his 6P when he didn't need a lot of light.

I think of mine as an electric candle, and carry it upright like a taper around the house at night. It doesn't mess up my night vision. :) The latest one I got came with a black plastic cone to eliminate sidespill.

I think mine has a problem. I notice if I screw the cap down far enough for the little switch to work, the LED always has a slight glow. If I back it off so that the glow goes away, the switch won't work.
Can't believe this is normal....
