Street Beat sheath question

Hi all,
I'm thinking to pick up a street beat model. I noticed the sheath only comes with a G clip attachment. (Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought they used to have a tek-lok attach.)
So I was wandering if the new sheath is compatible with a tek-lok system, and if so, is it a small or large one?
Thanks.

Spyderco developed the G-Clip to replace the Tek-Lok. While the Tek-Lok is great for belt carry, it does not work like a spring clip for IWB carry. The G-Clip does. To allow backward compatibility with older sheaths, the G-Clip uses the exact same hole pattern and spacing as the small Tek-Lok.

Stay safe,

Mike

Thanks for the info Mike. I carry it on my belt. The only negative I see with the G-clip is the fact that it doesn't adjust with the belt width. That being said, I'll give the g-clip a try.

Edit: IWB - Inside the Waistband (in case there is anyone like me that has no clue what Mike was talking about :D)
And I agree Mike, the G-clip is great for IWB, as i just found out today. That changes my perspective on the G-clip

The G-clip is great for when you have pants without a belt, like sweat pants.

The G-clip is vastly superior to the Tec-lock! I've ordered a bunch of G-clips and installed them on all my kydex sheaths regardless of maker. The clip allows you to carry a knife of any size [ if you're willing to cut the bottom off your front pocket or pockest, as I've done with my hiking pants] without anyone being the wiser. I've carried the Forester, as well as the Junglas, the CS Natchez bowie, and even the CS Gurkha kukri in this manner, and it's very comfortable.
Spyderco deserves a knife industry award for the G-clip.
By the way Mr. Janich, when is the Pygmy Warrior coming out? My full size Warrior and I can't wait.

You may have a point there. I used the g clip today first time and I'm pleasantly surprised by the way it performs. Need more time with it.

Or jeans with no belt. It works great. No worries about coming off to easy either.

Here is a question: what size hex do I need to adjust the g-clip?
I have a metric/imperial hex set with what I thought are most common sizes, but none worked:confused:

Edit: Found the answer in an older thread.
Looks like is not an hex, but a #10 torx bit.

One slight problem with the G-Clip is that it is for narrow / thin belts only, max. 43 x 4,5 mm; my 45 mm wide and 6 mm thick Hellweg gun belt is way too much.

I wonder if this problem would be solved by making a larger G-clip based on the large tek-lok.

I'm also interested in that one.
