Thinking about purchasing the Street Beat LW for edc, a general purpose knife.

I know this is primarily a SD blade, but how would it hold up in a campsite setting? Is the tip too weak?

For a camp setting:
-Making Feather sticks
-Skinning small to med size game
-whittling
-food prep

What have yall been using it for?

To me, the Street Beat looks like an excellent all-purpose knife. If I had one, it would get frequent carry and use for pretty much anything I'd use a knife for.

I don't see why the tip would be too weak unless you plan on abusing it. In the uses you've mentioned, it should do just fine. I like a fine tip for detailed cutting tasks.

Sorry, I meant to add how well would it hold up to batonning LIGHTLY.. I mean at most 1.5-2 inch sticks so I can get to the middle ; dry part

Well, you see, that's where the "unless you plan on abusing it" part comes in....
The battoning part was a just in case kind of senario,if I in an emergency had to baton with the SB to make a fire

99 percent of the time I'll have a hatchet or machete on me while camping

With the street beat, how would it handle processing small game such as rabbits, all the way up to hogs or deer??

It will do fine. If you don't plan on battoning larger pieces of wood and don't beat on the tip it won't take any damage.

It should do fine with skinning and quartering of game as well. Size isn't really an issue here, we use 3-4" blades for moose and reindeer here in Norway.

I've used mine camping a fair amount.

I've made feathersticks, done some light batoning. Cleaned lots of trout. Performed campsite food prep. Whittled.

Batoning was 1" +/- sticks to get to the dry stuff...like it has been stated - be aware of the tip and you'll be fine.

Interesting thread>> because the STREETBEAT and the RONIN are about the only two fixed blades I could easily recommend for an EDC blade. I even had a very good friend who passed away about a year ago who did use the STREETBEAT for his EDC. He had a really nice ankle sheath he bought for it and for the most part he used an SE RESCUE model and his STREETBEAT for his main duty knives. He EDCed them for about 2 years before he passed.

I personally like folders for my EDC purposes but on occasion I do carry either a STREETBEAT or my beloved TEMPERANCE 1 model that I've had for many years now. I'm kind of looking for Spyderco to come out with more short bladed, fixed blade models in the future. Because I'm seeing more and more people wanting some type of fixed blade for their EDC.
