Stretch 2 CF/FRN blade switch

Hi, everyone. Can anyone tell me if the Stretch 2 CF ZDP and FRN VG10 blades are interchangeable? I assume they are, but just want to be certain. I love the peel-ply CF, but for my needs, VG10 would be more than sufficient and I don't particularly want to spend the requisite amount of time sharpening the ZDP, so I'm thinking of switching blades between the CF and FRN models. Thanks in advance.

I've never done it, but it looks like it should work. I would strongly advise swapping the blade and lockbar as a unit. I can tell you the CF one does not disassemble easily. Lanyard pipe is either staked or just very, very tight.

Thanks, Paul. That's definitely something to consider, as the last thing I'd want to do is damage either of the knives...

I agree with Paul, and pulling apart some CF knives, the lanyard pipe is usually just a very tight fit. Look at the inside of the tube with a flashlight and look for ANY little dimples. If you see any, I would not pull it apart, if its smooth, like the CF Manix, you can get the scales off. Shoot me a PM if you have more questions.

Will do. Thanks for the advice.

I would not do that. Too much hassle for aggravating result. If you haven't bought FRN version already, use the money to buy diamond sharpening plates or waterstones and enjoy the benefits of high performance steel.
