Anyone have a Stretch 2 G10 version? If so what do you think about it? I'm considering buying one for something a little smaller than the Manix 2 I usually carry and am not able to handle one before purchasing.
Thanks!
I do! And I carry mine a lot! I will say buy one with out any hesitation. It is probably the second finest Spyderco I have ever owned (after the Slysz Bowie). It really feels like a quality piece. Fit and finish are superb. SOLID lock up (no play in any direction) and it is smooooooooth even for a lock back. The blade is great and the geometry is spot on, and the ZDP is a hall of fame steel. The only negative I can think of is with the solid back spacer, the knife is a little handle heavy in the balance, where as I prefer neutral balance or blade heavy. If you have any specific questions or want pics I am happy to oblige
Edit: It carries great IMO, the G10 is grippy but not like golden G10, a little more subdued. I like that alot. Definitely doesn't carry low in the pocket but that is something that has never bothered me. It doesn't ride abnormally high or anything though, just a normal clip position.
I also own one and carry it often. Absolutely love it. I would have to agree with everything kniferbro said. Good blade geometry, nice feeling G-10, ZDP is great, and indeed, solid lock up. When it locks up, it has a more satisfying snap than any other Spyderco back lock I've ever used. Overall it's a really great knife! I've been very happy with it. Good luck, and be sure to post some pics if you get one!
I had one, but traded it, didn’t like the brown color and didn’t like the belly sweep at the tip for “EDC”. That said, the quality of the knife was incredible, loved the ZDP, fit and finish A+! It would be a heck of a skinner too! For edc I prefer less belly like a Delica, PM2, Manix2, GB2...
I daily carry one. I LOVE it! I carried Enduras forever but this knocked them out of the pocket and onto the exchange. Works well with every grip I can think of and CUTS LIKE MAD. I am not sure if it is just the handle heaviness but it sticks to my hand like magic. The only downside is all edges seem unusually sharp but I think that adds to the "stay in your handness".
