Hey folks, I am in the market for a new EDC, unsure of whick i like best out of these 3 models. I was hoping to get some input (pros &cons)from those who own or have handled these models. i think i want a knife with full flat grind and am sure i want VG10 or ZDP189 leaning towards 189. Ant help would be much appreciated...Thanks alot

I have numerous flavors of each of these models. What constitutes the "best" is very subjective, though. I am particularly fond of the carbon fiber Stretch 2, and G10 Endura 4. But for years the Delica has also been a favorite of mine as well. Point being that there is no good answer to your question, because it is so subjective. If you are willing to drop the bucks (and ebay may be the cheapest place) I would point you to the carbon fiber Stretch 2. It is thin, solid, its the hand well, has a nice blade shape, and is aesthetically appealing. JMO.

Yeah that is the 1 im leaning towards the carbon stretch, as far as the blades go on the different models any preference towards VG10 or ZDP189???

If you prefer a more structured handle (i.e. one molded to your grip) maybe the Stretch is for you. I have both ZDP models (CF and FRN). I love the CF model but the FRN has a thicker handle and is more comfortable for me to use.

I don't see that the average user would see very much additional benefit from ZDP over VG-10. The blue handle is cool and ZDP is a premier steel, but the VG-10 version is plenty nice and is more affordable. If I had to buy one all over again I'd choose the VG-10. If you envision yourself as a heavy user then perhaps the ZDP is the right call.

Stretch has a more structured handle, a usable 50/50 choil and is a few grams lighter. The Endura has a 1/4" longer blade.

The FRN/VG-10 Stretch would be my first choice. I prefer the thicker FRN handle over the CF handle, and VG-10 is nice and easy to sharpen. On the other hand if you want to try exotic steel, then go for the ZDP version of whichever model you chose.

I originally started out with an endura sabre grind, switched to a vg-10 stretch full spyderedge. While i can appreciate the appeal of the carbon fiber stretch and the g-10 enduras, my vote for the money is the serrated stretch and a sharpmaker if you don't already have one. You won't be disappointed.
If serrations aren't your thing, VG-10 is an amazing steel with very little upkeep required, whereas zdp-189 can be a bear if you let it get too dull. All of these knives are great in the end it just depends what you want and how much you are willing to pay.

Another vote for the Stretch II in ZDP with carbon fiber handles. A completely awesome knife! My favorite large folder of all time.

You're looking at 3 different knife blade lengths and trying to choose between them. I have all three and like them all. But if I could only choose one of those 3 knives, I'd pick the Stretch in either VG-10 or ZDP-189 in FRN. The VG-10 won't cost as much and I think you'd be very happy with your decision.

I'd definitely get a Stretch. I chose FRN and ZDP since I use my knives pretty hard. The FRN is thicker, lighter, and less expensive.

The ergos are great on the knife. Spyderco fit a lot of blade into a compact handle. I like having a choil, l so that's a definite plus of the Stretch over the Endura/Delica.

between the CF and the FRN stretch2 is the handle material the only difference between the 2?

these are the 3 knives i'm also considering buying also since i lost my zt 0350
