Steve,
I'm looking to have the handle re-done on my Stretch I. The Krayton inserts started to lift so I pulled them up and cleaned out all the old glue residue.
I never did like the krayton inserts. It never really agreed with clipping in my pocket and was destroying the inserts.
I like the knife, the ergo's, the blade shape, the size/thickness.....just about everything except the krayton inserts and it has a small ammount of blade play in both directions.
A few questions..........
Would the blade play be remedied by remaking the handle?
How thin can you make a micarta or G10 handle? I like the thickness of the scales now, but think micarta needs to be thicker than the Stainless.
Lastly, what would I be looking at price wise. I have never had any custom knife work done, so I don't even have a guess. Could you give me a ballpark estimate so I can decide if I want to take the next step and fix it, or replace it with a Stretch II.
Feel free to e-mail me directly (davis61381 at yahoo.com), or reply here.
I'm looking forward to your response.
Thanks for your time.
Davis.
