Stretch II opinions?

At the gun show a couple of weeks ago I handled a Stretch II and I didn't want to give it back to the dealer.
I liked that bugger a hell of a lot, that's for sure.
So, I'm looking online (I'm no sleuth by any stretch... no pun intended) and I can't figure out if the Stretch II is riveted or if it's something I can disassemble, clean and reassemble.
If someone can clear this up for me that would be great.
I also hope for any owners of this knife to give me an overall opinion on this blade.
It seemed beautiful to me... any complaints?
Thanks for any input.

I fell in love with it the second I saw the prototype. When it arrived there were no regrets and it is an absolutely superb outdoor knife - slim and slicey, comfortable in hand and pocket, really very good ergs all over it.

I am no fanboy, and only like a few spyderco knives, but find that this one ranks :)

what I'd prefer fo rthe outdoors is a VG10 and CF version. The CF handle is great, but I find ZDP189, whilst totally charming, a bit needy

You can take all versions of the Stretch II apart. It truly is one phenomenal knife. I love all mine. Any version you get will do you fine. I carry the FRN VG-10 model most frequently though.

ETA: It is assembled in the same way as the Endura/Delica models.

I carry and use my CF Stretch quite a bit. It’s really an awesome design, especially as an EDC. The blade is a great slicer and there's a lot of length packed into a relatively small handle. Very smooth and solid lock-up too: you rarely hear about blade play issues with the Stretch II.

Like most people, I think the FRN version is a little more comfortable to hold, but I appreciate the thinness of the CF. I usually carry mine without a clip in a 5 inch black cordura belt sheath from A.G. Russell. It’s very compact and low profile.

It's a really nice knife. The blade shape is great, and it slices very well. Somehow, though, the Delica is more comfortable when using the knife very hard. I'm not sure about how it stacks up against the Endura in that category, though.

As mentioned, full screw construction. The FRN versions are built exactly like the Delica IV and Endura IV - bi-directionally textured FRN handle slabs with nested, skeletonized, steel liners. CF version is also all screw construction, has skeletonized full liners, and is a bit thinner. I'm highly prejudiced in favor of the Stretch and consider it THE best EDC folder Sal has ever designed. Superb ergonomics in a very compact package. My only "complaint", aside from the Boye dent which I despise regardless of the model it's on, is that a bolster and scales version, preferably with an Odin's Eye Damasteel blade, is not available. :o

Had mine for two days before getting pickpocketed of it, and it was and still is my favourite out of the group of Delica 4, Military and Gayle Bradley.

It is one of my favorites as well, but I like the FRN / VG10 version better than the CF / ZDP one. Wish I could explain that one, but I do!

I can understand that. FWIW, I too prefer the FRN version. It feels more comfortable in my hand than the CF one, especially after prolonged use, because it's a bit thicker. As for the VG-10 vs ZDP-189, both are good. ZDP-189 has the advantage in terms of edge holding, but VG-10 is more stain resistant and easier to sharpen. I've used both and, if forced to choose between them, would take VG-10. Just wish they'd offer the VG-10/FRN version in the brown they're using on the Delcia and Endura. :)

I feel that Spyderco's FRN is the most comfortable handle material I've ever tried, G10, CF and Micarta included (but Micarta coming in close)

Well, I got one.
Carbon fiber with ZDP 189.
I got a feeling this is going to be a long term relationship.

I like the CF/ZDP version. I had the FRN version and the lockbar required very little movement to disengage. I don't know if that feature is typical of the model or just my particular sample. It was solid but not very confidence inspiring. I also just prefer G-10 or CF over FRN.

I like the CF on it. It has the look of CF but feels like G-10, peel-ply carbon fiber is my favorite material.

I have a CF Stretch and it's one of my favorite Spyderco's, it feels great in the hand and I really like the peel -ply CF.
