Stretch vs. Endura

i promised myself i'll never do a this-against-that thread but i need both opinions and factuals. obviously, i'm choosing between the two. i'm not likely to buy both at this time. i have a deli and a military. the stretch, or the endura, is expected to round out my cutting needs. i plan to buy either one in zdp 189, by the way.

1. (you'll find this strange) which of the two has a stronger pivot and resistance to over-extension when you try to cut on something tough?

2. which of the two blades is easier to sharpen, assuming both in zdp - actually i can answer that: the endura since it has a shallower belly and no bothersome upsweep to the point. still, i'd like opinions.

3. which has a tougher/thicker primary bevel going right to the cutting edge? either of these two will get tougher cutting chores than my vg-10 delica.

4. the handle issue seems clear: the stretch (i have only FRN as an option.)

5. which design, in your opinion, is more "tactical." use whatever definition you have of that silly word.

thanks gents!

I have the ladybug, dragonfly, delica, stretch, and endura in ffg zdp.

1. I believe the pivot on the endura and stretch are the same, or very close, to the point where it wouldn't matter.

2. Like you answered, most likely the endura. Unless the extra little bit of blade made it harder for you.

3. They are both very similiar in thickness. I would only say if you plan on really giving it hell, get a saber ground knife not a ffg one.

4. I prefer the endura handle. It is very roomy. My hand feels slightly cramped on the stretches handle, by those strong curves.

5. I don't see a difference in their tacticality :D I made that word up :D
Honestly though, Neither of them look very tactical to me. The ones I got are in British racing green. The stretch and endura seem like general use edc's to me. They aren't touted as being super tough, no one runs them over with tanks in any videos. The Stretch may be a little more people friendly, being that overall it is smaller.

Good luck in your decision, you will enjoy either, which you already know since you have that delica. Actually come to think of it if you are looking for something slightly new/different, maybe you should go for the Stretch.

+1 I find the Endura handle much more comfortable. The Stretch just doesn't snuggle into my hand the way a Para2 does.

I have owned both. I now only own the Stretch. For all practical purposes they aren't that different. Both are lockbacks, both fill the hand nicely, both are FRN/ZDP, both have a Spyderhole, both have a 4 way clip (IIRC, haven't checked), etc. I don't think there is a wrong answer.

I also have both knives, when walking the dog I carry the Endura. Otherwise for edc, the Stretch is the one,I just love the way it rides so flat in the pocket.

I have the Carbon Fiber Stretch, and it's my favorite spyderco I own with the m390 para at a close second.

The ergos, bladeshape, and looks are unbeatable.

I own an endura and love it, but consider it a lot different from the stretch. The more "tactical" is the endura, the blade length is a bit longer.

thanks gents! i already have a pretty good idea of both and i think it boils down more to preference.
