Stretching Kydex

Hello all,

Im curious if there is any way that one could "stretch out" a kydex sheath a little bit.

Depends on what you mean by stretch out. If it's too tight, you can heat the area lightly with a hair dryer or heat gun until it loosens up just bit.
 
^ The knife just fits a little ... too snug.. Ill steal the girlfriends hair dryer tonight and give this a shot.

Might not be hot enough, but you can give it a go.

No idea how hot those things get, but about 400* in my oven gets the Kydex nice and bendy.

Around 400 degrees you also start to get some very nasty gasses that you don't want to be breathing!
 
If just reheating it doesn't work, try a layer of masking tape on both sides of the blade, or wherever you're experiencing the tightness. Shove it back in the sheath if possible then heat with a hair dryer or heat gun. Once that area is flexible, press it and this time you'll have the extra space provided by the tape.

BTW, 400F is way hotter than you need in the oven. 4-5 minutes at 300F should be enough on average.
