stretching the spring on kershaw leek

I recently picked up a kershaw leek and I absolutely love it but the assisted opening is a bit weak for my taste. It's about the speed of my sog flash 1, but I like mine r have a little bit more kick.

I've taken kershaws apart and before so I know how it works but I was wondering if I could stretch the spring out a bit too give it more kick without breaking snapping the spring

I would clean, adjust the pivot, and use a thinner lubricant before I did anything else.
I would not mess with the spring. If you think it is weak, just call Kershaw and they will send you some springs for free.

Some knife making supply companies sell replacement springs that are stronger. I have one in my Sog Flash 2XL. I haven't looked for the leek though.

honestly, ive already dissasembled the knife and oiled it with gun oil. by all means its more than likely normal i just like my mules to kick a little harder than that.

If one stretches their spring too much, it will Leek more, or so I've heard. Use caution.

Not exactly sure how you would stretch a torsion bar as it is pretty much straight in the open position. If it has just gotten a little weak over time I would just call kershaw. They will mail you a new one no problem.

Unless the knife has a tendency to not open all the way, I'd just keep it as-is. I understand the desire for a harder firing knife; I used to collect autos, and the stronger the spring, the more fun it is. But on an assisted, particularly with a liner or framelock, stronger isn't necessarily better. Slamming the blade open repeatedly can cause excessive and premature wear to the lockbar face. Bending the torsion bar to increase kick might ruin it, by making it too difficult to deploy, or making it so it doesn't detent closed anymore.

Your Leek may just need a few weeks to break in. If not you could have a weak torsion bar in which case you can contact Kershaw for a replacement. If that doesn't help you can try polishing any points of friction such as the pivot, bushings, and tang with some Flitz or similar metal polish.
