Hi friends!

This is my latest review-video with a knife,I got from a friend for testing it outdoors.

It`s the first time, that I held a Crusader Forge in my hands. It`s the TCFM02,a very tough(and expensive) small knife of S30V steel and a blade thickness of 6,5mm.Much too heavy for its size,in my opinion, but looked very strong,so I tried to do a realistic outdoor test with it.

The vid is bi-lingual English/German,but I think, you will understand all the points in this vid anyway, because of the pics.:D

In the video, once I tell,it`s the "minimi" of Crusader forge - this was a mistake of mine - it`s actually the TCFM02 of Crusader Forge, like I told above.Sorry for this(I`m only human):)

Here`s the vid - enjoy it - I`m already curious for your comments!

This knife is IMO really expensive for its blade length, after taking into account, blade steel, handle materials, heat treatment, grinding, finishing, assembly etc.

Perhaps the custom-made sheath adds to the cost of the knife?

The Fallkniven F1 has a blade length of 3.8", has thinner blade spine and lighter in weight should cut and chop better than the Crusader Forge TCFM-02. The only thing in common these two knives is the similar overall lengths and blade lengths. Their intended purposes are very different which doesn't make for an objective comparison.

I personally feel a 5" to 7" fixed blade for outdoors/survival/food preparation
purposes should be sufficient. Couple this with a hatchet for chopping wood, a folder with a 3.5" to 3.9" blade for other tasks or a large SAK or multi-tool for the tools.

This should be sufficient for outdoors/survival/food preparation.

A fixed blade with a blade length of less than 4" doesn't seem to fit my needs since a medium to large folder (3.5" to 3.9") can handle the cutting tasks except for batonning, chopping, prying, throwing best left to a fixed blade.

Just my insignificant 2 cents' worth.

I can agree.I also prefer larger knives for the outdoors. But I think, this knife is more meant as a back-up knife for a soldier. Maybe...
