What if spyderco and stride collaberated? That would be sick and i know alot of knife lovers would pay alot of money for a collab like that, something to think about spyderco

Not strider hatin' but for me that would be one I wouldnt buy. You are correct though, there are some that would be all over that

Am sure you're right although, personally, I can't see what would that bring to the table that Spydercos like the Tuff and a hand full of others have not already offered.

Sent from my HP Desktop and 27" Dell monitor using a Kensington keyboard (although why anyone would care is beyond me).

Interesting idea, although I don't really expect that would ever happen. The majority of Spyderco's collaborations are with small custom makers (with the exception of the Lionspy), and while Mick Strider does have his MSC line, the majority of Strider knives are widely regarded as productions not customs. Additionally, what do you think a Spyderco/Strider collaboration would look like? An SnG with a round Spydie Hole? Seems kind of pointless if you ask me.

All that being said, I'd love to see Spyderco put out a well designed, over-the-top, over-built knife.

The Tuff is sadly discontinued, so in my opinion, they really need to fill that gap. Also, what are the handful of other knives you mentioned? I really can't think of any that are similar to the Tuff.

Pro Tech did a collab with them. Not sure how big it went over......it is expensive.
I have no interest either. I love the fact that Sal wants to do collabs a with the smaller makers. I also heard that Spydie is the number 1 company that makers want to work with......not surprised at all.

Hope they never do a callab with those folks. Never see it happening.

Personally not interested in any $400 Spydercos.

I think it would be awesome if they put out more high-end models. There will always be the more affordable, tried and true FRN Spydercos. Why not pull out all the stops and do some high-end sprint runs?

For starters, the Chinook. The original one was an absolute tank, but the 2 and 3 were no slouches either. The original full size Manix would be another. If you're looking for something current, the LionSpy, the Nirvana, and the Tatanka.

I've seen pictures of the Chinook before but I just looked up more info, and holy carp I never realized how huge that this is.

The LionSpy is definitely a solid suggestion, but Lionsteel's RotoLock is absolutely horrible. I've never owned a LionSpy, but the RotoLock on the Lionsteel SR-1 and SR-2 I own have a bad habit of engaging on their own. What came as quite a surprise to me though, according to Spyderco's specs the blade thickness is .18" on that one. Wow.

The Nirvana, well, I own one. Superb knife but I wouldn't put it in the same category as the Tuff or LionSpy, mainly because the thin titanium handle doesn't really lend itself to true hard use.

I think Spyderco should really consider bringing the Tuff back or offering something similar.

Strider and spyderco.

That means Spyderco will sell a Uglya## Overpiced knife
with a Spydie hole.

Of course the Strider haters come out.

Have you ever owned or held a Strider SnG?

At any rate, this argument has gone on time and time again here on BladeForums. Just so you know "thebladelover333", since you seem to be very new to this community, every time you bring up Strider knives or Mick Strider you're bound to end up starting an argument between those who absolutely abhor Strider knives and those who swear by them.

That being said, I love both Spyderco and Strider but I don't think a collaboration between them is likely to ever happen.

My opinion of Strider is pretty simple: high quality, low integrity.

I think pretty much anyone (not just Spyderco fans) would agree that Sal is unquestionably one of the "good guys" of the knife world, I can't imagine him wanting to be associated with a character like Mickey Ray.

I just finished this... a 'Strydica'... Delica with a Strider'esque heel. Unique... however it's not going to find a place in everyone's heart.

I have been making them for several years... with the Delica profile pivot...

Anyone remember the Superleaf? 4mm blade with a choil. I too don't love Striders mostly because Spydercos seem to "cut first and worry about being a tank later
