Strider BT Pics!

NICE! Gonna have to get one for myself now. :D Just waiting for Uncle Sam's return.

Hey Killerkain,

That's a real mean mother... you have there! Just can't wait to get my hands on mine, when I get them.

P.S.: The way you carry the sheath, sideways. Do you have to do any modifications to fit the Strider sheath onto your belt?

Researcher,

I'm still experimenting with different types of carry for that big b*tch. I've seen it carried that way in a photo that one of the Strider guys posted some time ago. I'm not sure if it was on a web belt though.

Here's what I've come up with: I'm currently using a Blackhawk (yes, Blackhawk) modernized web belt and use LBE bands to secure the sheath to the belt (one at each end through pre-existing loops in the sheath). I removed the blade from the sheath and ran a piece of 550 cord around mid-section (underneath the kydex stickout) to keep it really tight against the belt. it seems to work well. I'm probably going to run some 550 cord around the ends where the LBE bands are for extra added security. Down the road sometime I'm going to make the "switch" to SOE gear, for obvious reasons.

hope that helps! post some pics when you get your hands on those Striders!

p.s. how cool it must be, to be surrounded by all those Strider's all day long (Strider guys).

knifebomber,

i was thinking about that. i'll give it a try next time out. thanks

p.s. congrats on the cool photo (strider photo contest). i bet you go to work with a big a*s smile on your face everyday. last year i as down at knob creek and had a chance to run 200 rounds thru 7.62mm mini. too cool! 200 rounds goes real quick!

Thanks, Kain. I enjoy my job for the most part, but we shoot only about a tenth of the time. There is more things that the pilots up front need to keep currency on than we need to shoot guns. Not my opinion, but I ain't the driver. Sometimes it gets to be a major bore. But, on those lucky occasions, it is all worth while.

question for duane about bt:

i've noticed on my bt that the tip to the first serration has been ground. this is something that i haven't noticed on any other bt or seal 2000, is there a reason? maybe a new change or perhaps a cool mistake? just curious. first photo is my bt w/serr. & tiger striping and the second is of a seal 2000 bt taken from yamash*ta.com's site. maybe i have a serious one of a kind or maybe some serious wishful thinking. either way, i am quite happy with my strider and look forward to doing business with you guys down the road.
