At the Chicago custom show last weekend one of the Strider guys said they were collaborating with Ken Onion and Kershaw knife company. He went on to gush about how great of a company Kershaw was and how they crank out 7000 knives a day. He said Ken Onion is a genius. Both of those facts are probably true.

He did praise Buck knives, the people running the company and their six year relationship. He said the current collaboration with Buck is up to the Buck company. But the impression he left was that the end was near.

I really hope this isn't the case. The Strider Buck models are some of my favorite Buck knives. Anybody have anything new to add to this as to why they probably won't be collaborating anymore? Are they going to be discontinuing all the tactical models or does Buck still get to keep making them?

Is this for real?

I'm sorry - I'm not all that familiar with Strider (or Buck!) knives...I'm guessing this is a rebadged Buck (or Strider) of some kind??? "Gerber William Harsey Air Ranger Knife"

Which Buck/Strider model is it???

Folks....Buck is continuing to collaborate with Strider. Duane and I have discussed the deal with Ken Onion and Kershaw as being outside of our agreement but Duane said it is benefiting disabled veterans (near and dear to mick and duane's hearts)(and Ken's as well). Buck will flex our exclusive contract with Strider because this is such a good cause and we do not want to stand in the way.

Now that we have the relocation behind us our engineering staff is once again fully focused on new products and we will continue to work with Strider into the future to provide relevent tactical knives.

That's really great news! I think that should be a win-win situation for everybody concerned, Buck, Kershaw, Strider, and customers.

Thanks for the update CJ. That's great news & a class move on Buck's part to bend a little, so everyone benefits. No surprise there. What else would you expect from such an outstanding company.
