Hello everyone. New around here... I just got my Strider-Buck Mini in the mail today. It's one heck of a knife!!

Couple questions, however.

The clip feels really tight. That, or the G10 is just very grippy. One way or another, I think clipping this thing to my pants is going to destroy them over time. That, and I really have to shove it down on my right front pocket to get it on. Anyone have similar problems? Should I just bend it back some and hope for the best?

How is Buck's warranty on these blades? This is my first buck, so I don't really know much about the company. I mean, I understand that Strider is real good about their service, what with the "unconditional guarantee" and such. But how about buck? Will the resharpen/retip the blade for me? Fix/replace if the liner bends or fails? Anything like that?

Sorry, I'm just new to bucks. Before, I was predominantly a spyderco and Strider user.

Thanks.

Can't help you with your knife questions, Midget, since I don't have that model Buck.

I can, however, state without a doubt that Buck has a world class customer service organization. I have never dealt with a more customer oriented group of people, ever! And besides, they're just good folks.

Don't worry. they are the best.

I can attest that Buck will stand by their products.
I think you should resharpen your own knife though...

The Strider Buck is a great hard use knife, its quite beefy, it should take a fair amount of abuse, but thats your choice and if you abuse it, you should not expect to be covered by a knifemaker's warranty.

With that said I think the Strider will take a great amount of abuse and remain serviceable. It would be my choice (of folders) for wading into a large pit of gore to do battle. In this respect the roughness and ruggedness serve it well.
If you want to soften its edges, use some sandpaper to smooth the bite of the G-10 and bend the clip if you wish.

But here's what Id do,
Leave it alone, let it tear up your pants and use it for a while before you make chages you may later regret.
Good choice on the knife!

I've been packing the larger Buck-Strider (spearpoint) in a 9 mm. Sidekick magazine pouch from Uncle Mike's, which just barely accommodates it. It should fit your mini-Strider even better. I also rounded off the edges with a piece of fine sandpaper (took about 60 seconds) but otherwise left it alone. When not using the pouch I carry it IWB or in a jacket or vest pocket.

You'll be hard pressed to find better customer service than at Buck. The clips on mine are toght as well. The large I keep in a pounch clipped to my belt or gear. The small I will either just throuw in a pocket or carefully clip to the watchpocket in my jeans. I was, however, thinking about taking off the clip on the mini and tweaking it ever so slightly.

Just another remark on Bucks Customer Service.., it is outstanding!
