Hi all, I'm new to the knife community. The only knife in my collection worth mentioning is my Zero Tolerance 560 Hinderer that I luckily stumbled upon when it was sold out everywhere heh. Anyway, I've been perusing the forums on information on Striders and CRK's Sebenza / Umnumzaan. I plan on purchasing a quality knife that can take a beating and, in my field of work, will stay classy without being flashy, don't want anyone knowing I have a knife without them needing to know that I do. I need a tanto point, just because it's my favorite blade shape and I don't own a knife with one. I would also like a black coating, hence class without flash. I did find that CRK provides coating if you send the purchased knife to them, correct me if I'm wrong. This information is what led me astray when I was about to fully lean towards a Strider. Any and all information to help with my decision would be great. Max price of $600, as it is the Strider I was about to purchase.

Both are amazing knives. I've owned knives from both makers. I just ordered an SnG. For me, the strider fits me better and what I want in a knife. Either way you can't go wrong. If you get one and find you do t care for it, just trade it on here.

I've never seen a sebenza or any Chris Reeve folder with a coated blade, it doesn't exist. What you may be thinking of is a Damascus Bladed folder from CRK.

Black coated tanto is the very last thing I think of when I hear "classy"...

Based on your criteria, I really don't think you want something classy. CRK's don't come coated, so I guess that makes your decision easier?

According to the post in your first link, the knife was shipped to an aftermarket coating company in North Carolina. CRK didn't coat that blade.

The knife in your second link is an uncoated, stone-washed blade from CRK.
