strider custom alternative?

Emerson customs perhaps. They aren't really high end though.

Here's a CQC-10 custom

Check out Kirby Lambert if you want customs that go for a little bit more than Strider production knives. It's an extremely well made knife, and TOUGH. If you want something else, I guess, check out Charles Marlowe. His Squail folder has a deployment hole like Strider. If you like deployment holes, maybe check out Tom Mayo also. His knives (usually) aren't as beefy as the rest of the people I mentioned, but the ones I've owned feel like they could hold up to some abuse, especially the beefier of his folders. Hinderer is good too, but I'm not so sure it's worth the effort. I've owned a few of his production XM-18s, and in terms of F&F, they weren't really on par with anything else that I've listed here. I don't know that his custom XM-18s are any different other than the blade grind. I guess if you like the integral backspacer on Striders, you can check out the Scott Cook Lochsa, but other than being an integral folder, there's nothing else really similar to Strider knives.

Those knives I mentioned above are all knives that I've owned at some point. There's many that I haven't. You might want to check out Mikkel Willumsen, Allen Elishewitz or Bob Terzuola. I have never handled any of those knives though. Maybe someone who has can chime in.

Also, you mentioned you wanted alternatives to Strider. Do you mean their customs or their productions? If you want an alternative to their production knives, maybe check out the Lionsteel SR-1, or maybe the Umnumzaan or Sebenza.

Three Sisters Forge makes a really heave duty folder, and the prices are pretty reasonable for all you get.
