Just before the New Year, for some reason I decided that I must have a short fixed blade that if needed can serve as a pry bar, so Strider came to mind. The DB appealed to me for its strong tanto tip and 3.25 blade that can be legally concealed here in WA.
I like the knife, it feels solid as piece of a rail and I'm looking forward to give it some good use in the years to come. In the spine photos SMF next to it looks like a whimp LOL.
Right out the box, I trimmed the paracord on the handle that was left as a lanyard and re-profiled the cutting edge from about 50 degree to around 40 and changed the tek-lok position on the sheath for the vertical carry.
Most of my knives are sharpened at 30-35 degrees, but I kept this one thicker just because the blade is so thick, I may reduce it to 35 in the future.
The second edge by the tanto tip is rather dull but from my understanding it was made so to improve strengh on penetration. I wanted to give it a little polish but the angle is too high for the EdgePro to match it.
Anyways I took some pictures in the process to give the idea about the size of the knife and how it sits in my medium-large hands.
