Why not just post your question here? You came this far already.

I'll think about it.

^^This. Strider, like a number of other manufacturers (CRK, ZT, etc.), has a MAAP policy, so the prices are the same everywhere (e.g., a lego SnG is $400, CC or DGG SnG $475, lego SMF $475, CC or DGG SMF $550). Unless it's something really unusual or has been pimped (modded) all to hell, it should be easy to give you an estimate of the value.

Also, since you (the OP) are a Gold member and thus allowed to sell on the Exchange, you can ask questions about the value of a knife you're considering selling on the open forum without fearing the wrath of a mod.

the wrath of a mod.

Well as long as that Wrath of Mod ship won't kill me then I will post a couple of pics and ask for some opinions. I traded into this knife and it's just not my thing, well built and pretty cool it's just bigger than I'll carry. I posted it for trade and I've had offers all over the board in value. I'm just looking for a ballpark figure of what this thing is worth so I know what's a reasonable offer and what isn't. Lockup is solid with no blade play. It looks to be a user, there are a few scratches on the blade as well as some on the frame. Any help is appreciated and thanks for the replies already, Trevor~

It's an earlier model SmF with the Paul Bos heat treat and the "Hinderer" marked lock stop. Looks like it was the standard lego model - full thickness G10 and titanium.

If I see correctly I think the blade is stamped "S30V".

A new one will run you $475 plus shipping.

Free advice is worth what you pay for it. I think $375 is a fair price for a used production SmF in decent shape. I'd go as low as $345-350, and if no takers, consider sending it to Strider to have them give it the spa treatment and see if that helps the value. Some might pay a little extra cause of the Bos stamp - but I think not on this forum.

Striders in the BF Exchange don't always fetch as much as some other places do.

I'm gonna check one resource to see if I can figure out what generation it is - if I do I'll edit my post. It won't change what I think it is worth.

Good luck.

I can't tell from the pic but is the pivot pin marred or gouged; as sometimes happens when someone attempts an adjustment with an ill fitting tool?

No problem - glad to help. I own two Strider SmF knives - I think they are very well made knives, but not everyones cup of tea.

Good luck with the trade.
