I have a SMF CC with a flamed ti finish and although this blade is awesome when I slip it into my pocket it is very difficult to take back out. The knife goes into my pocket fine but when I need to retrieve it, the matte finish doesn't allow the knife to slip out from my pocket. I have a SNG without the flamed Ti and it slips in and out of my pocket just fine. Anyone experience anything like this too?
It doesn't take away from how much I dig the size and ergonomics of this blade but when push comes to shove and I need to draw my knife quickly I'm running into a minor issue with the matte finish causing to much friction against my pocket. Anyone experience this? Troubleshooting?

I don't believe the finish has anything to do with your problem. More than likely it's the difference intention of the pocket clips.

I could have swore that it was the finish but the tension in the clip makes sense too. I'm hesitant to bend that clip because I don't want to tweak it and screw it up. Maybe I'll give it a try though. I'm open to suggestions.

I had the same problem. I took the clip off, sanded the clip and the area where the clip contacts the scale with 2000 grit until they were both very smooth. It slides out very smoothly now. You can also CAREFULLY bend the clip just a smidge if you don't want to sand it.

I wouldn't worry about bending pocket clips. Just do it slowly and with just a little force. Then put it back on and see if you still need to adjust the tension. I've done it to dozens of my knives (all brands) and have never had any issues.

If your second knife has stonewashed Ti, they definitely come out of the pocket more easily. The main issue is the tension on the pocket clip though.
Striders are known to have tight pocket clips and some of the gunner grip models will eat your pocket up.

I don't think I would remove any material from any part of the knife, as that may void your warranty. Definitely do not remove the pocket clip and try
to bend the tiny little piece that sticks into the top hole, as I've broken one of those off before doing that. They did replace it but you don't want to have
to send your knife in and it be gone for a few weeks.

I had some really tight pocket clips on some microtech troodons and I bent it out a bit with my finger and stuck a couple of drink coasters between the
clip end and the body of the knife and would leave it for approximately an hour at a time and then would check it. Eventually I got a tiny gap between
the clip and knife body and that was just what I needed. I also did this same thing with one lego SnG sucessfully.

If you try this do it just a little at a time, you don't want to bend the clip way out too far and then it be useless.
Best of luck.

They're designed to be difficult to remove from your pocket, so that when you need your knife it is there and not lost from when it fell out of your pocket.

The knife that is easier to remove is the one with a problem :D

I agree. I would rather have it securely fixed to my pocket and harder to get out.

With that bein said, I have had 3 variations or striders. Stonewashed SMF, DGG SNG, and currently a cerakoted PD1 SNG. They all had about the same pocket clip tension, and we're harder to get out of the pocket. The stonewashed version might have been slightly easier to get out. While the DGG just shredded the pocket.

I would not try to remove any material or coating from the knife. Maybe with more use it will become slightly easier.

In an interview Duane said they adjust the clip so that a single sheet of copy paper will slide under without resistance.

I do like the fact that if I happen to tumble down a hill or hang upside down for whatever reason my knife isn't going to fall out. I could see the stonewashed ti falling out but with the flamed ti that knife isn't going anywhere unless I intentionally remove it (at least with mine)
